Plan for skate park near Watford

Proposals for a BMX track and a skate park near Watford could get the green light.

The idea is that Oxhey Park would be an appropriate location for the skate park and BMX track. Watford Borough Council is behind the scheme and if the initiative gets off the ground, then poster printing in Watford could be used to promote the development.

Peter Taylor, a councillor with responsibility for services, told the Watford Observer:

“The exciting plans for Oxhey Park North would provide a new space that can be enjoyed by the whole community. We are listening to everyone about the proposals.”

Although the plans have not yet been finalised, the vision involves the provision of a cycle track. This amenity would ring the skate park and the BMX track. Furthermore, a training space for children would be a safe place in which to pick up cycling skills. Other potential options include table tennis tables and a café by the river bank.

Watford Borough Council likes the prospect of encouraging recreational activity near the River Colne. As a result, the organisation has already displayed preliminary proposals within a local church. The council has also prompted members of the public to provide them with online feedback. Resources for the work could be obtained from a tax on landfill. Lottery funding might also come into play.
