Tunbridge Wells toy store closes after 11-year run

A Tunbridge wells shop, which features one of the most interesting window in the city, has flipped its ‘open’ sign to ‘closed’ for the final time after 11 years in business.

Camden Road’s Cosmic Cartwheels has enjoyed a degree of fame after it had attracted both children and adults over the years, thanks to its variety of vintage and used toys. Many customers and locals say that it is difficult to walk by the store without smiling at the wide range of toys in the window.

The lure of more free time was too great for owner Dave Ronnie, who decided to retire with the renewal date of the store’s lease coming up.

Dave is still trying to work out the best way to buy and sell through his website, although he concedes that he would prefer to deal with customers in person. He also plans on visiting comic conventions and toy stores.

It isn’t uncommon in this day and age for a business to make the shift from offline to online trading. One of the first things that businesses making such a move tend to focus on is maintaining their existing customer base. Employing promotional strategies such as newsletter printing, flyers, and other services are some of the most used methods of informing the public about changes to the business.
