Half marathon to be held in Swindon

Swindon’s Half Marathon has been scheduled to take place in mid-September.

On September 22, many runners will embrace the challenge of the town’s half marathon. There was some doubt about the event actually happening this year but an announcement confirmed that this uncertainty has been resolved. Many runners choose to take part in events like this to benefit charities and this can result in the use of flyer printing to record sponsorships.

There were concerns about the future of the half marathon but these fears have been calmed due to the large number of participants that have been taking part in recent races. Over £118,000 was raised due to the efforts of thousands of people during the 2018 race. This total was considerably higher than had been achieved in 2017, when fundraisers collected about £70,000.

Registration for the run is to open on February 1. The half marathon is being supported by the Nationwide Building Society. Organisers behind the plans are optimistic about the prospects of the event.

Last year, those who opted to run in the half marathon were able to receive assistance with their training. If people have not jogged for more than 13 miles, preparation tips are invaluable. It is important for everyone to build up to the type of challenge. This is true for novice runners, but experienced individuals who want to break their personal bests can also secure an advantage from appropriate advice.
