Swindon-based First City is trying to recruit more care assistants.

The company is searching for community support staff as well as care assistants. Its recruitment drive is focused on Swindon and beyond. Marketing services in Swindon can be used to promote opportunities to people across the whole of Wiltshire.

Stephen Trowbridge, First City’s Managing Director, told the Swindon Advertiser:

“We want people who are passionate about helping others, who have a caring nature and who want to see others achieve everything they can. We provide the training and qualifications needed for the roles, but we can’t train people to have the right core values – to be positive, compassionate and caring – so that’s what we look for in the person.”

Alicia Woodward has been employed as a care assistant for a whole year. Her previous career was within the hotel trade. She has worked in a kitchen and served on reception. Unfortunately, a fire curtailed her job in the hotel sector. However, Woodward enjoys the variety of her care work. She likes the different challenges and would like to become a leader of a team.

Liz Priestner got started in the care sector after being made redundant from a paralegal position. She likes to help individuals to regain their independence. She also enjoys giving a hand to people so that they can make informed choices about their future.
