Celebrities flock to Stoke-on-Trent

When you think of Stoke-on-Trent, you probably don’t immediately think of A-list Hollywood celebrities. However, that’s just how a new Stoke-on-Trent poster printing campaign has tried to promote the latest retail development in the city.

Poster printing in Stoke-on-Trent to promote a new proposed shopping centre shows a selection of major celebrities enjoying the city for their weekly shop. The pictures have been seen around the city in a bid to drum up support for the development, which the council hopes would transform Stoke into a major retail destination.

Some of the celebrities seen in the retail development advertising campaign include British actor Jude Law, former Doctor Who assistant Billie Piper, Pirates of the Caribbean star Keira Knightly and Sienna Miller.

The retail development in Stoke-on-Trent is set to be called the ‘East West Centre’. The poster campaign was created by Realis Estates – the developer of the East West Centre. A spokesperson for Realis Estates was not available to comment on the posters.

However, Ross Irving, council leader for Stoke-on-Trent, believes that the new shopping centre in Stoke would attract some of the major celebrities to visit the city.

He commented:

I hope to see these people in real life.

We are hoping this redevelopment will create competition for other regional centres, such as Manchester or Birmingham.

Should the East West Centre be given planning approval and receive sufficient funding, it will be constructed in Hanley and will replace the bus station, and Hanley Shopping Centre.
