Banner printing in Southampton could raise profile of cultural and historical events

Southampton is a city steeped in rich cultural heritage and thanks to the city’s historians and history aficionados, this rich heritage looks set to be preserved for future generations. Southampton city council run a monthly lecture series called Past Times Talk which is held at Westgate Hall. This event celebrates the city’s past and passes on knowledge that allows a new generation of historians to keep this history alive. The lecture series always proves popular but it could always benefit from a new intake of patrons. This is where local print companies could be called upon to provide promotional services like banner printing. Southampton residents who are not directly involved with the cultural scene in the city may not be aware of the Past Times Talks and therefore the organisers are missing out on spreading their knowledge further. By advertising using attention-catching banner printing, this Southampton institution could grow and share the pleasures and benefits of learning about local history with a wider audience.

The Past Times Talks are held each month and the next lecture is to be held on the 10th of February. This lecture focuses on Southampton Soldiers in the 18th century and talks about a variety of topics, from local regiments of the army to prisoners of war. The guest speaker is due to be Maria Newbury who curates local museum collections. This information could easily be conveyed using banner printing, which would help the group to attract more members.
