South Birmingham benefits from tourism

According to a recent report, South Birmingham is benefitting a lot from thee tourism sector.

The data was collated by the Office for National Statistics (ONS). The work highlighted the fact that Birmingham as a whole secured almost £1 billion from tourism during the course of 2016. Brochure printing from south Birmingham can boost firms in the tourism sector.

The estimate by the ONS suggests that Birmingham obtained £972,755,000 from visitors in this time period. If that sum is divided by the population of the city then everybody would receive about £865.

The amount of money generated by the tourist industry in Birmingham is so large that it can be hard for many people to get a handle on it. It may help understanding to appreciate that if the money concerned was invested in football, it would be sufficient to purchase either Borussia Dortmund or Paris Saint-Germain Football Club. Football fans will recognise that the two teams are among the global elite.

The tourist sector in Birmingham is broad-based. It does not just consist of hotels, restaurants and bars. When tourists come to the city, they spend some of their cash on renting cars and on other forms of transport. The retail centre of the second city of England is given impetus by tourists and residents alike. Places like Solihull and Walsall also get a lift from the visitor economy.
