Art fair to open in Reading

The Reading Contemporary Art Fair (RCAF) is returning to the town later this month.

It is the ninth time the fair will be held and lasts for a weekend. It includes a diversity of workshops, interactive sessions and live demonstrations. Poster printing from Reading may be used to promote various events. Deborah James is the director of the fair and she told Get Reading:

“We are passionate about art and artists, and have worked very hard for over a decade to create a space for art lovers and artists to meet face-to-face to experience art, a space for real art for real people.”

Over 160 artists intend to showcase their efforts during the course of two days. These individuals have different statuses. Some of the artists have international reputations, while others are just starting out.

Jelly is a local charity that will participate on the weekend. This organisation serves to highlight artistic achievements and shall host a workshop as part of its contribution to the fair. Jelly has existed for more than two decades and it is celebrating its longevity by creating a time capsule. This art project recognises the silver anniversary of the charity.

There will be a concerted effort to engage with young people. The hope is that a quest will enable visitors to appreciate the art which is exhibited. The fair takes place on 21st and 22nd April.
