Poole to welcome back Sandbanks Ferry

Now its latest refit is completed, Sandbanks Ferry is coming home to Poole.

Sandbanks Ferry receives maintenance every winter. After each refit, it comes back to Poole. Falmouth is where the repairs on the ferry are done. The Bournemouth-Swanage Motor Road and Ferry Company is the proprietor of the boat. The firm told the Daily Echo:

“The ferry is still in Falmouth, the tugs are there and on standby, and as soon as there is a break in the weather we will be bringing her back to Poole.”

On the return of the ferry, there will be no immediate boat usage. Instead, further work and tests are anticipated by the business.

Since October 29, the ferry has not been in operation. No specific date was established for the resumption of the service. In addition, the office which provides information about ferry services was closed at the start of the refit.

The upshot of the temporary office closure was that some people might have been left a little out of the loop. Neither visitors nor phone users had the opportunity to source relevant data from the building. Brochure printing can help businesses communicate with the public.

Meanwhile, a transport timetable was revised to fill the gap in service provision. The 50 bus has been travelling on a route that includes Poole, Studland, Swanage, Wareham and Westbourne.
