Beer week coming to Oxford

Next month is set to be one to remember for lovers of beer in Oxford, as the very first Beer Week begins – launching what organisers hope will become an annual event.

The event is the brainchild of a number of local beer brewers from Oxford and the wider county, who came to the conclusion that the city needed an event to celebrate the many real ales and beers that are produced in the area.

One of Oxford’s most popular pubs, The Perch, is set to serve as the venue for the launch of the week. Many local breweries will be providing samples of their products, including relative newcomers the Tap Social Movement.

One of the founders of Tap Social Movement, Tess Taylor, told the Oxford Times that everyone within the industry had supported it since its launch and explained that they were excited by the event, which starts on May 1st, adding that:

“During the week we will be in a few different bars and pubs and we will have a ‘meet the brewers’ event. We will have eight beers available for the week and there will be two brand new ones for everyone to try.”

Brewers who wish to use the week for networking can rely on places offering bespoke business cards to provide them with the tools to do so.
