Preparations for the Lord Mayor’s Celebration (LMC) within Norwich are underway.

The line-up at one of Norwich’s summer events is sorted out already. The LMC is pencilled in for early July. The Lord Mayor’s Procession shall provide a themed focus to the occasion. Promotional products from Norwich can be used to showcase local firms.

Helen Selleck is an events management specialist at Norwich City Council and she told the Eastern Daily Press:

“This year’s Lord Mayor’s Celebration is shaping up to be really special. Everyone involved is really embracing the Circus 250 theme and there will be a great mix of live entertainment that everyone can enjoy around the city centre.”

The event will have something for everyone this year. In addition to the Lord Mayor’s Procession, there shall be a five-kilometre race, a puppet elephant parade, a cycling hill event, fireworks, theatre, music and comedy. As for the Procession itself, it will involve a host of characters and floats.

Norwich Arts Centre is currently taking bookings. Shows cost £10 for adults, but children and concessions can gain access for £7.50.

Norwich and Great Yarmouth have been selected as circus cities for 2018. Four other cities will play a role in this regard. The Circus250 celebrations are connected with an important anniversary. The Lord Mayor’s Procession is being coloured by this central influence and the Lost in Translation Circus is organising subsequent events.
