Media awards open for entries in the East of England

The East of England Media Awards opened for entries on 10th October, celebrating journalism across online, radio, TV and print media.

The EDF Energy-sponsored awards are part of the wider Regional Media Awards that are supported by the company throughout the UK. The East of England Media Awards is open to cities and towns throughout the area, encompassing Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.

Entrants are expected to come from across the media spectrum and there are 20 categories in total that are open to entries, including daily newspaper of the year and print journalist of the year. This is a real opportunity for the media industry in this part of the country to celebrate those who have excelled in both new media and more traditional formats of media, such as newspapers that are created using digital or full colour printing.

Norwich Evening News were winners of last year’s category for best front page and the Eastern Daily Press won the best daily newspaper prize.

In a world where online journalism can often seem the only source of news, an awards ceremony that celebrates the media industry and journalism across different channels is a refreshing boost. The East of England Media Awards show how print and online journalism work together alongside each other and how both are relevant in this day and age to their respective audiences.
