Plans submitted for Newport’s Ringland

The Ringland area of Newport could be transformed following the submission of plans.

A retail area and 170 homes might make a big difference to this part of the city. However, the local council will determine the outcome of the process. Printing services can be useful in assisting organisations working on regeneration projects.

Newport City Homes has a clear vision of what it wants to achieve. The hope is that a fresh urban identity can be cultivated in Ringland. To that end, millions of pounds may flow into the area. It would become vibrant if the investment goes ahead. A neighbourhood hub, including a new library, should be an appropriate amenity.

It has been revealed that the planning statement expresses concern about the current state of Ringland. There is genuine anxiety about antisocial behaviour, while the aesthetics of the locality have allegedly declined. The statement added:

“The new neighbourhood will be defined by creating streets that people feel safe in and enjoy walking along, public spaces that are of high quality and streets that are safe for pedestrians and give them priority over the vehicle.”

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, approximately 13 retail outlets should be opened in Ringland. Coupled with the provision of some affordable housing, such a development would have quite a big impact on the quality of this part of Newport.
