The Mums Enterprise Roadshow (MER) will be in Manchester this summer.

An enterprise roadshow will take place in Manchester during the month of June. The MER is being organised by Lindsey Fish who will hold the event in Trafford City. The one-stop shop will offer women jobs, franchise opportunities and training. Business cards from Manchester may be used by the self-employed. Fish has personal experience of juggling issues associated with motherhood with issues connected to employment. She told the Manchester Evening News:

“I realised that mums I was coming into contact with were all facing the same challenges. We were all questioning how we were going to balance being mums and work. That was my lightbulb moment.”

Lucy Chaplin is a friend of Fish and is a creative director. The pair have worked together before, with their first event being based in Brighton. This did not attract the planned number of participants but since then, the duo have tried to up their game by transforming the brand of their firm. One idea has been to market ideas to residents of large regions.

Fish is engaging with debates that have been taking place in the media. She is looking at themes like maternity discrimination, gender equality and flexible marketing. The MER will also focus on CV production and marketing. Empowerment will be enabled by the sharing of positive stories. A crèche shall facilitate the involvement of mothers.
