Nightclub to create jobs in Macclesfield

A new Macclesfield nightspot will lead to the creation of 30 jobs.

The business is to be located in the centre of the town. It will occupy a site that once accommodated the nightclub Fresh. The club is to be called Scene and should attract people back to Wood Street. Promotional drinkware from Macclesfield is an option for entrepreneurs involved in the night-time economy.

Scene’s managing director, Alan Macdonald, told the Macclesfield Express:

“We’re excited about the new club which will be good for Macclesfield. We’re investing £250,000 and hope to create 30 jobs for the people of Macclesfield. We are replacing the venue Fresh and will be bringing the biggest DJs and performers from across the country to Macclesfield to play at Scene.”

Macdonald suggested that the team has been inspired by the nightclubs of Las Vegas, Liverpool, Manchester and Miami. His team come from Belfast and it has experience in putting on events. Macdonald has been living within Lancashire and he is convinced that Macclesfield has plenty of potential.

Scene is looking to deliver a mix of dance, hip-hop and RnB. The long-term hope is that it can contribute to the vibrancy of the local economy. Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the launch event, which has been scheduled for the middle of December and will involve dancers and fire breathers.
