Lutterworth tech biz boosts assets with holding company acquisition

September 6, 2017 by

Lutterworth-based tech firm, Freudenberg, has purchased Metflex Holding Company, after taking advice from law firm Spearing Waite.

Metflex, established in 1919, is a specialist in producing and supplying diaphragms, rubber seals, and precision moulded components to an international multi-industry consumer base.

Freudenberg has three operations based in the United Kingdom, with its headquarters in Weinheim, Germany. Its UK operations includes a Lutterworth-based sealing division.

The Sealing Technologies division manufactures products for consumers for a wide range of industries, such as construction and agricultural equipment, food, ship construction, machine-building, civil aviation, and automotive.

Freudenberg CEO Mohsen Sohi said:

“With this acquisition we are strengthening our established businesses in general industry with additional innovative technical solutions.”

Martin Smith, head of corporate group, led the spearing Waite team, which included Hannah Tessyman corporate assistant, Erin Vickers Real Estate Partner, and Ian Thompson Commercial Partner. Smith added:

“We are delighted to have advised Freudenberg on this important strategic UK acquisition. It demonstrates our ability to advise large international corporates on significant UK investments”.

The company will need to ensure that their identity of their latest addition aligns with the overall brand.

When businesses undergo a strategic change, or expand through an acquisition, it is important that the identity of the business is not lost in the transition. Print shops in Lutterworth are able to help businesses by providing items such as luxury business cards, office stationery and business forms.
