Best Buy set to launch brochure for distribution around stores

Best Buy, the US electronics retailer, is set to launch a magazine-style brochure that will be printed and distributed around its ten UK stores.

The magazine, entitled LoveTech, will feature information on the products that are on offer in Best Buy stores and will feature advertisements from retailers who currently sell their products through Best Buy. The chain of Best Buy stores sell a range of consumer electronics, from household items to audio visual equipment and as Best Buy is relatively new to the UK market, they will benefit from the marketing push that a magazine-style brochure or catalogue could give them.

The Head of Marketing Communications for Best Buy UK, Andrew Barclay, told The Drum magazine that he hoped the printed brochure would be seen as:

“An inspirational, contemporary and informative customer magazine, which, while aimed at our core customers – 20-40 year olds – will appeal to everyone. It’s also a great opportunity to further raise awareness of our brand and what we offer in the UK.”

Many retailers throughout the UK have seen success by producing catalogues or by creating communications using brochure printers. Liverpool, Rotherham and Derby are just three of the ten locations where the LoveTech magazine will be on offer to advertise products available at Best Buy.

The magazine will be created by London-based publishing agency August Media and will be available from mid-July in all Best Buy stores. The magazine-style brochure will also be handed out in the streets near Best Buy stores and there are also plans to distribute it as an insert in the Daily Telegraph newspaper.
