Earlier this month, many companies got together to celebrate the best of the business world in Norfolk, at the Kings Lynn Corn Exchange. Awards were given for several achievements, and all the winners are reported to be very pleased with their accolades.

According to the Lynn News – which is associated with the organiser of the event, West Norfolk Council – approximately 200 people attended the event on Friday, 7th March.

In total, nine awards were given, and Omex Agrifluids from the Saddlebow Industrial Estate won the main prize of Mayor’s Business of the Year. Alan Lowes, the company’s regional director, accepted the prize on behalf of all the staff. He said that they would all be ‘chuffed’.

Business Person of the Year went to Ikon’s boss, Andrew Wilson. His thank-you speech included a tribute to his wife, Sarah, who he credited with being a huge support for him.

Mike Taylor accepted the Contribution to the Community award on behalf of the charity Bridge for Heroes. He highlighted how far the Norfolk public’s support has gone in helping with the charity’s Kings Lynn centre and gaining government support.

Other awards went to Kings Lynn estate agents Russen and Turner, Briarfields Hotel, and Congham Hall Hotel. The aim of the annual event is to showcase Norfolk businesses that are seeing success. Many of the local businesses make use of print companies in Kings Lynn to increase brand awareness.
