A celebration of cycling livens up King’s Lynn

A recent Pedal Lynn event promoted cycling in and around King’s Lynn.

Pedal Lynn started bright and early on Sunday 27th May. Promotional products from King’s Lynn can be useful at events in Norfolk. The air ambulance for East Anglia is set to benefit from the profits accumulated via Pedal Lynn which totals over £1,000. Helen Rainbow, the events manager responsible for the occasion, said:

“All too often we don’t appreciate what is right on our doorstep but riding around Lynn and our surrounding countryside is amazing, it’s relatively quiet and so easily accessible.”

A partnership approach made the initiative possible. West Norfolk Council, the local cycling club and the bike store Pedal Revolution all made a big contribution to the day. Hundreds of individuals were tempted to take part.

Riders of diverse abilities and ages were able to participate. Different rides started from the market place. The various routes featured stops for food and drink. Families could attempt a short ride, while experienced riders had the opportunity to take on a challenge of 100 miles.

The Tuesday Market Place did not only serve as a starting point for the riders. It was also a focus for coaching sessions and free fun. The people behind the event have begun preparations for it to be held in 2019 because the day was deemed to be such a triumph.
