Lego tour coming to Kilmarnock

The appeal of Lego is not limited to youngsters and Kilmarnock residents will be able to check out some spectacular creations this summer, when a tour hits town.

This tour is being called ‘Bricktropolis’ and it will be making its way around the globe, with its first port of call being Kilmarnock. The event will officially be launched at the town’s Dick Institute during the summer and local Lego-heads will have over a month to explore it before it moves on to the next location.

Bricktropolis is being promoted as an exhibition that is interactive and will feature 20 detailed models of famous buildings, all made out of Lego. Among those will be the Shard, the Eiffel Tower and Kilmarnock’s own Dean Castle.

All of the exhibits are the work of Bright Bricks, which is the UK’s sole accredited Lego builder. The models will have audio and lighting effects and moving parts, making up the interactive part of the show.

In addition to this, those visiting the exhibition will be able to create towers of their own, in something that is being called the Brick Pit. There is the chance to win a prize and this part of the show will be ideal for young children.

It will open on June 7th. Events such as this often use poster printing to promote themselves to the local community.
