July opening for playpark in Helensburgh

A brand new play area that is being constructed in Helensburgh is on course to open next month, providing local children with another leisure option in the town.

The location for this new play area is set to be Hermitage Park and the most recent pictures that were posted to Facebook show that work is almost done. Several slides and frames for climbing on have now been placed in the park, meaning that there is just the addition of sand, bark and grass to the surfaces left to complete.

Some of the surface areas within the playpark will also be turned into soft ground through the use of wetpour during the final weeks before it opens. All equipment left from the old play area is being moved to another local spot.

Speaking to the Helensburgh Advertiser, Friends of Hermitage Park chairwoman, Fiona Baker, stated that everyone from the group was really pleased to see the latest photos of the project, before going on to add that:

“Everybody is obviously excited. We are really excited about how it’s turning out so we just need to be patient and wait for the grass to grow.”

When the park does open again in July, the group will need to advertise it in the local area and places that provide poster printing often come in handy in situations like this.
