Cancer charity to host event near Hayes

Cancer Research UK is promoting a summer event in the vicinity of Hayes.

The planned Race for Life is all about getting local women to raise money for a worthy cause. The hope is that there will be a big turnout for the 5km event. Runners and walkers will start their effort at the Hillingdon House Farm Sports Ground.

If people apply to participate in the race now then they will be able to take advantage of a 30% discount on entry charges. This offer ends at the end of the month. Poster printing in Hayes may be used to promote charitable causes.

Hillingdon-based event manager, Tom Dawson, told the Hillingdon & Uxbridge Times:

“January is the perfect time to commit to getting a little more active in 2018 by signing up for Race for Life and taking on a new fitness challenge. For those who need some extra encouragement to get moving, Race for Life offers the ultimate motivation.”

Tesco sponsors a range of Cancer Research UK events. Several million pounds are raised on an annual basis by inspirational women. Some of the races are 10km in length, while others take place on muddy ground.

In London, almost 100 people receive a cancer diagnosis each day. The illness affects women from several different generations.
