Exeter retail outlet gets new owners

A well-established independent retail outlet in Exeter has changed hands recently.

Independent retailers can find it tough to get ahead, but Mayfield’s Fruit and Vegetable store in Exeter has been trading for more than three decades. The future of the shop has been secured as new owners have taken on the challenge. Business cards from Exeter may be useful for local entrepreneurs.

Viju Jacob and Jojo Paulose have taken on the greengrocers. The pair hope to innovate with regard to home delivery. Nonetheless, there should be some continuity for customers as the businesspeople want to maintain aspects of the history of the enterprise. The duo told Devon Live:

“We are delighted to have bought the long-established Greengrocers on Pinhoe Road and we will continue with the same quality products and service that regular customers enjoy but with an additional range of traditional Asian groceries and an extended home delivery service.”

The previous owner of the shop, Jason Mayfield, took the time to say goodbye to local people. This friendly changeover was synonymous with the family ethos associated with the store. The wives of both Jacob and Paulose were both present at the event.

The emphasis of the partnership will be based on the provision of high quality produce. The hope is that the local community will respond positively to really fresh food.
