Exeter may get fourth Starbucks

A fourth branch of popular coffee chain Starbucks could open up in Exeter if plans get the green light.

Exeter currently houses branches of Starbucks in the railway station, on the Marsh Barton Trading Estate and on the High Street. If all goes to plan then a store will open in Honiton Road. This coffee shop would be in easy reach of a park-and-ride facility. Flyer printing from Exeter can help to promote outlets in different sectors.

The application for planning permission draws attention to the potential for passing trade. It also underlines the quality of the local transport network. The infrastructure includes a variety of bus stops. A document clarifies the position of the Starbucks chain:

“It is proposed to change the use of Unit 1 from A1 (retail) to A1 and/ or A3 with ancillary A5 in order to accommodate a Starbucks Coffee shop.”

The idea behind the acceptance of the proposal is that changing the purpose of the unit will not have a negative impact on the surrounding area. The document explains that neighbouring amenities should not be affected by the envisaged transformation.

The appropriateness of the scheme has been considered by the firm. National and local planning policy has been evaluated prior to the submission of the plan.

It is not yet clear when the final decision on the venture will be made. However, Exeter City Council planners will opt whether or not to give consent when the time comes.
