Programme announced for Edinburgh Film Festival

June 2, 2018 by

The complete programme of movies to be shown at this year’s Edinburgh Film Festival has now been officially confirmed, ahead of the summer event date.

Among the films that will be screened during the 2018 festival are 21 movies that will be enjoying their world premieres. One of these is ‘The Parting Glass’, which is the debut directing effort for True Blood star Stephen Moyer and features his former co-star – and wife – Anna Paquin, as well as the likes of Ed Asner and Rhys Ifans.

Both Paquin and Moyer will also be coming to Edinburgh to promote the film at the festival, bringing some Hollywood glamour to the event. Other films to premiere at the festival will include ‘Lucid’, ‘Two For Joy’, ‘Songbird’, ‘Old Boys’ and ‘Steel Country’.

The programme also includes some blockbuster movies, such as ‘Incredibles 2’, while the actors George MacKay and Rob Brydon will do question-and-answer sessions after their new films have screened. Ben Roberts from the BFI told Screen Daily that:

“We are proud supporters of EIFF – which plays such an important role as a platform for new Scottish, British and World Cinema, and as a real festival of discovery.”

The festival will take place from June 20th to July 1st. Events of this kind are often promoted through the use of flyer printing.
