Performers sought by Edinburgh theatre group

A theatre group that recently launched in Edinburgh is offering wannabe performers a chance to be on stage, by putting out a casting call for its upcoming debut show.

Immerse Productions will be putting on this show, which is entitled ‘Year Zero’, at this year’s Leith Festival. The company has indicated that it is on the lookout for amateur actors to take part in the play, but also for those interested in stage management. The venue for the debut performance of the play will be the Biscuit Factory.

The director of Immerse Productions, Sean Quinn, stated that anyone who answers the call needs to be able to offer talent, versatility and creativity – as well as enthusiasm for what the company is trying to achieve with its first show.

Year Zero takes place in a world that is on the edge of an apocalypse, with audio, visual and lighting effects set to be used to create this feel. Auditions will take place during the middle of this month and Quinn told All Edinburgh Theatre:

“Political tension is at an all-time high and time for a diplomatic resolution is over. A group of strangers gather in an abandoned Biscuit Factory and wait for further instructions.”

The play will make its debut this June. Organisers of shows and events like this often use flyer printing to help with promotion.
