Edinburgh Airport to offer new flight

Edinburgh Airport is set to offer a new flight option starting later this year, with the launch of a route between the Scottish capital and Munich.

This new service will be provided by Lufthansa and it will see flights go from Edinburgh to Munich on two occasions each week, with Saturday and Tuesday being the planned days for these flights. It is scheduled to launch during the winter, with the first of the flights due to take off on December 1st.

The plane will be an Airbus A319 and will include seating for 28 people in business class. It will be the sole business class flight currently available for passengers travelling between the two cities. It will join easyJet and Eurowings which currently offer flights to Munich from Edinburgh.

The additional flights will further develop the links between Edinburgh and Munich, which is the third biggest city in Germany. Speaking to insider.co.uk, the airport’s chief executive Gordon Dewar stated that:

“Edinburgh’s Christmas has a flavour of Germany with its own German markets but what a fantastic opportunity to get away and experience it first-hand in Munich with the launch of this winter route.”

This route will be operational until the end of March. Airports often inform the public about new flights by making use of poster printing and the production of brochures.
