Belmont and Edgware Cricket Club held its annual awards night recently and the ‘Player of the Year’ prize went to a man who impressed as batsman and bowler during the season.

Jonathan Evans produced a number of excellent performances for the side, making him a deserving winner. His batting average was an impressive 40, while as a bowler he achieved an average of 21, with these figures representing his best season since he joined Belmont and Edgware Cricket Club.

Although Evans was the star of the show on the night, he was not the only one to pick up a prize. The awards for ‘Bowler of the Year’ and ‘Players’ Player of the Year’ both went to Jonny Eintracht, at the end of what was his debut season for the club after moving from Australia this summer.

Other players that won awards during the ceremony were Adam Morris, who was named ‘Most Improved Player’; Josh Reynolds, who won ‘Young Player of the Year’; and Dan Frumar, who got the award for ‘Best Batsman’. Awards nights are often advertised with the help of places that supply poster and banner printing.

Speaking at the event, Adam Jacobs, the captain, stated that the new players had fitted in well and that the club had made a strong return to playing at league level.
