Festival Season Starts in Fife

The local festival season is now well underway in Fife with many towns and villages hosting an event.The Bruce Festival runs from 26th – 28th August in Dunfermline. This celebration of King Robert The Bruce takes place near his final resting place in the historic Pittencrieff Park. The festival includes battle re-enactments and jousting to replicate a medieval feel. There is also live music on the bill.

The Pittenweem Arts Festival runs from 6th – 14th August and is now in its 29th year. There are over 100 artists, both local and national, exhibiting in houses, garages, studios and gardens, anywhere that has wall space.  The exhibitions cove a wide range of topics from paintings to sculpture. The exhibitions are all free to visitors.

Cardenden Village Fair takes place on 21st August and includes highland dancing, karate displays, model aircraft displays and much more.

Aberdour Festival take place between 29th July and 7th August and includes pet shows, a farmers market, beach events and much more.

Throughout Fife at this time of the year, you can always find an event to go to and even participate in. Most of the festivals and galas take place in August and September.
