Marketing Agency offers social media advice to businesses to raise money for charity

A marketing agency in Chesterfield has come up with an innovative prize to help raise money for a local hospice at a charity auction.

Brighter Directions is a marketing agency that specialises in social media marketing. The company offered a place on one of their social media courses, which is to be held at the end of January to the highest bidder in a charity auction for Ashgate hospice. The workshop place was worth £250 and was designed to help people and businesses to see how online and social media marketing can further their relationships with customers and increase sales. Many companies are now exploring social media to see how it ties in with and complements offline marketing such as poster, flyer or banner printing.

The Chesterfield-based marketing agency spoke about this to Bakewell Today, with the managing director Claire Curzon saying:

“We wanted to do some fundraising for a local charity and thought that auctioning a place on our social media workshop would not only help Ashgate Hospice, but would also play a part in helping the growth of the winning bidder’s business.”

Claire added that she hoped the auction was a success:

“I hope that we receive lots of bids for a place on the workshop and that we manage to raise a substantial amount of money for Ashgate Hospice which is a very worthwhile course and deserves everyone’s help and support.”

Social media is becoming a key element in the marketing mix for many businesses but print is still very much a key part of communications strategies and often works alongside online elements to achieve strong results.
