Dinosaur exhibit to come to Cardiff

One of the most recognisable dinosaur casts is paying a visit to Cardiff next year as part of a tour of the UK.

The exhibit is the body of a Diplodocus and has been given the nickname ‘Dippy’ by the many people who have gone to see it at London’s Natural History Museum. The National Museum Cardiff will be playing host to Dippy during his stay in the city, which is one of his stops on a tour of the UK that will last two years.

This museum and the Welsh National Assembly joined forces in the bid to bring him to the city, although the original intention was for him to be housed in the Senedd when he arrives in late 2019.

Speaking to Wales Online, David Anderson, the Director General of the National Museum Cardiff stated that they were thrilled to have the chance to host the display and that Dippy would be given the warmest of welcomes to Wales, adding:

“Visitors to National Museum Cardiff will be able to marvel at Dippy and take the opportunity to meet his cousins in our national history galleries, taking a journey from the very beginnings of time to the present day.”

Many exhibitions are often advertised through the use of themed promotional products provided by local businesses.
