Cardiff could get luxury chocolate shop

Life could get very sweet for chocaholics in Cardiff, with the news that one of the premier purveyors of top quality Belgian chocolate is hoping to open a branch in the city.

Godiva Chocolates already has a number of shops located across the UK, but this Cardiff store would be its very first Welsh outlet. An application for planning permission has now been submitted by the firm to the local council, with the chosen location being the St David’s retail centre.

The proposals include plans for an external seating area, ‘self-treat’ section, and shop front that will enable the customers to view the expert chocolatiers at work creating glorious edible works of art.

There would also be a gallery featured within the store, which would showcase what the company is describing as ‘presentations’ – as well as its latest chocolate creations. Steven Madeley, the St David’s Centre general manager, told a reporter from Wales Online that:

“We are always looking to bring new and exciting brands to the city.”

Should the company’s Cardiff store plans materialise, the project would provide employment for 11 people in the city.

Businesses that plan to open a store in a new city may require the help of a local print shop to provide numerous services, such as banner printing and full colour printing to help ensure its products are advertised in an eye-catching fashion.
