Date announced for Cambridge’s first ever Pride event

After last year’s postponement of the first Pride event in the city of Cambridge, a new date for this occasion has finally been announced.

On Saturday 8th June, Cambridge residents and visitors will take to the streets to celebrate the LGBT community and culture.

Whilst Pride events are annual occurrences in many cities in the UK these days, including the likes of Manchester, Leeds and Brighton, this will be Cambridge’s first. The event will be organised and managed by the local charity Pink Festival Group, which is already requesting donations to help to fund the event alongside grants, sponsorships and proceeds from the various events of last year’s “Prelude to Pride”.

This event, which has been much anticipated, is sure to be hugely popular and as such will certainly be promoted far and wide. Events such as this often turn to local printing services to have banners, signs and other materials provided to help make the event a success.

Cambridge Pride will be free to all and, along with the traditional pride parade, will include a main stage, performances from local acts, stalls run by local charities and community groups and a variety of refreshment vans.

The event will be taking place at Jesus Green park, to the north of central Cambridge.
