Prestons of Bolton capitalises on royal engagement with new advertising campaign

Prestons of Bolton has been an established jewellery retailer in the area since the 19th Century. The company has always promoted their business through traditional media using printing companies based in Bolton. This Christmas, they are set to ramp up their marketing and advertising activity using a variety of media, from television commercials to more established print means using poster and brochure printers. Bolton residents can expect to see that campaign in the run up to Christmas and will be able to spot more than a small similarity to recent events in the news surrounding a royal engagement. Using the tagline ‘treat her like a princess’, Prestons of Bolton aims to capitalise on the announcement of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s engagement and the advertisement is set to reposition the company as a destination for engagement rings and diamond jewellery.

The advertising campaign was devised by the Gate Design Group and many other local businesses are taking inspiration from this approach to advertising during the festive period. Local printing companies are beginning to see an increase in approaches from local shops and restaurants who aim to increase the amount of advertising they put out over the next month, including flyer and poster printing.
