Tim Hortons to open new Birmingham branch

One of the biggest coffee shop brands in the world is set to open a new outlet in Birmingham, giving coffee fans in the city an early Christmas gift.

Tim Hortons was originally launched in Canada and has gone on to become a worldwide brand. The company is to open its first ever shop in the Midlands later this month and it has chosen a city centre spot in Birmingham for this, with the shop and café to be located at the end of New Street.

The chosen site was formerly occupied by the travel agents Thomson and will place Tim Hortons right across the street from its biggest competitor Starbucks. The branch will be over two floors.

It is also set to be open for longer than most of its competitors, with opening hours to be from 6am to 11:30pm between Monday and Saturday and from 8am-9pm every Sunday. New shops and cafes often use promotional products to help attract attention when they launch.

Kevin Hydes of Tim Hortons UK told the Birmingham Mail:

“We are thrilled to be bringing our famous brewed coffee, French Vanilla, Donuts, Timbits and freshly-prepared food to the buzzing city of Birmingham.”

The shop is due to officially open its doors to the public towards the end of November.
