RuPaul set to visit Birmingham

There is good news for fans of the flamboyant star RuPaul, with the announcement that RuPaul’s Drag Race will be touring the UK later this year – and one of the places it will stop at is Birmingham.

This tour is called Werq the World and those living in Birmingham who head along will encounter a unique blend of comedy, death drops and high-flying routines. The city’s Symphony Hall is set to be the venue for this show and it is fair to say, nothing quite like it will have been staged there before.

Any fan of the television series the tour is based on will be delighted to learn that a couple of the winners of this – namely Bob the Drag Queen and Violet Chachki – are taking part. There will also be other former contestants.

These include Lady Bunny, Alyssa Edwards, Acid Betty, Shangela, Kim Chi, Detox and Valentina & Peppermint – while co-host Michelle Visage will also be taking part in the live shows.

The dates in the UK are just one part of a wider world tour that the show is undertaking, with the performance in Birmingham scheduled for 27th May.

Live shows such as this one often make use of places that can supply full colour printing, so they have strong promotional posters.
