Christmas print campaign for Somerset cheese makers

Wyke Farms, a cheese maker in Somerset, has launched an advertising campaign designed to entice customers into buying their cheese in the run up to Christmas.

The advert has been created by advertising agency Thinking Juice and features the line ‘Somerset all wrapped up for Christmas’. The one-page advert also features details of the origin of Wyke Farms and the story behind their cheese. These ads will run in national cookery-focused magazines such as Good Food and Good Housekeeping and are designed to entice consumers into buying Wyke Farm as part of their Christmas grocery shopping.

This advertising campaign shows that, even with the advent of online advertising, many companies still give weight to traditional communication channels like print adverts and poster printing. Bath and the wider Somerset region are areas that are known for their cheese and particularly their cheddar, which takes its name from the village of Cheddar in Somerset. Christmas is a big time for cheese makers, as people stock up on cheese, biscuits and wine for cosy nights in or Christmas parties and social gatherings.

The managing director of Wyke Farms, Richard Clothier, spoke to The Drum magazine and said:

“We have always taken pride on being the UK’s favourite farmhouse cheddar and we are making significant investments into connecting with our consumers and continuing the excellence they deserve. We feel this press campaign resonates our provenance and family farming in the Somerset countryside roots.”

The print advertising campaign will be live in the run up to Christmas.
