Charity record attempt for local man

A man employed by a company based within the Chineham district of Basingstoke will try to break a record next month, in a bid to raise cash for good causes.

Andrew Dubowksi works for Ortho Consulting Group as its head of international business development and he will attempt to achieve a record number burpees. He will be undergoing a lengthy session of the full body flat burpee as he tries to cover a distance of 3,000 metres – moving forward by one metre with every burpee.

Nobody has ever tried to achieve this before, meaning that he has the chance to set the world record as well as meeting his fundraising goals. A representative of the Guinness Book of Records will be in attendance to see if he can manage it.

The 44-year-old is taking on this challenge in support of Barnardo’s and The Limbless Association, with the latter also being backed by the firm he works for. Local companies often use printers that can produce quality business cards for networking use.

Speaking to the Basingstoke Gazette, Andrew said:

“I’m being a bit single minded and I love a challenge. I’m hoping to raise £3,000 in total. For a donation, people can even join me for a length of the floor or two.”

The record attempt will take place on 2nd March.
