Major building contract secured by Ayr company

A property development firm based in Ayr has successfully secured a lucrative contract for the construction of a new hotel, which will be built in Edinburgh.

Crucible Alba Group will take on the job of building this facility, which will have 70 bedrooms and is to be located in South Gyle. Although work has not yet begun on the hotel complex, Travelodge Hotels Ltd has already signed a lease on it that is due to run for 25 years, from when it opens next year.

The Ayr firm is focused primarily on the construction of buildings for commercial use and has been responsible for projects throughout Scotland, in addition to northern England. Work on the hotel is likely to last for around 10 months. Building firms often make use of graphic design services to produce plans and blueprints for new projects.

The company’s Local Development Director, Brian Robinson, told a reporter from the Ayr Advertiser that the decision to give the project to Crucible Alba Group was a good one for every party involved in it, before going on to add:

“The location of the hotel is extremely strong, being within two miles of Edinburgh International Airport and adjacent to the successful Edinburgh Park business district.”

The expected opening date for the hotel is sometime during the autumn of 2019.
