Chip shops in Ayr fight for title

Two of the fish and chip outlets in Ayr will be taking each other on next year, having both found themselves on the shortlist for the most prestigious title available to eateries of this kind.

Both the Forehill Café and Dinos have long been favourites among those who live in the town and one of them could be on the brink of achieving national status. The two eateries are in the running for the title of Fish and Chip Shop of the Year, and for one of them, it is not the first nomination.

The Forehill Café, which is located on Mount Oliphant Crescent, was nominated for the same award last year – but the owners will be hoping to go one better and claim the title this time around.

On the other hand, it is a first-time nomination for Dinos, which is located on Maybole Road. This makes it even more impressive that the chip shop has reached the final shortlist and it ensures that Ayr is the solitary Scottish town to have two outlets in the finals.

The judging process for the last remaining entrants will get underway in the new year, and will be held in London.

Local dining outlets such as these often choose to take advantage of printers that can provide laminating services, for essential items like menus.
