Ayr pub to undergo a revamp

One of the most well-loved pubs among Ayr residents has been given a last minute reprieve from being closed down on a permanent basis, and is now set to have a new lease of life.

West of the Moon, which is located on the Arthur Street strip in Ayr, closed its doors suddenly earlier this year – something that was a major disappointment to its many loyal patrons. However it has now been purchased by Chris Steele, who owns several successful restaurants, and he is planning to revitalise it.

The 37-year-old told the Daily Record that he will be lavishing around £50,000 on the project and hopes to have it ready for the grand relaunch in time for the festive period. Once it opens, it will also bring jobs for 16 local people.

Steele went on to state that the decision to save the pub was a further vote of confidence in the town, as it begins to regain its footing, adding that:

“West of the Moon would have been a huge loss to the town. I and many others have spent a lot of time in there over the years, so it’s great we’ve been able to save it.”

Pubs and restaurants located within Ayr can always make use of printers that supply services such as laminating, for items such as menus.
