Ayr energy efficiency event gets sponsor

An event taking place later this month to launch a new guide for improving the energy efficiency of housing in Ayr has secured a high profile sponsor.

Local housing association Ayrshire Housing, which is based in Main Street, has signed up to be the sponsor of this event. It is intended to launch a guide for how to retrofit homes in Ayr to ensure that they can meet targets for energy efficiency and sustainability. The town’s County Buildings are set to be the venue for the event.

South Ayrshire Council and the Energy Agency will be co-sponsoring it and the guide being launched on the day has been specially commissioned by Historic Environment Scotland and The Pebble Trust. Graphic design services are often used in the creation of information guides.

The guide is intended to support investment by the government aimed at tackling fuel poverty and climate change. In addition to its sponsorship, Ayrshire Housing will be represented by Jim Whiston, who will talk about how registered social landlords are looking to enhance existing homes by examining how well they function and listening to what residents think.

Another speaker will be architect Chris Morgan, who co-wrote the guide and he will discuss how to achieve energy savings when retro-fitting. The event will take place on 16th January, between 11am and 1pm.
