July launch for Altrincham walking tours

June 1, 2018 by

Jonathan Schofield is launching walking tours within Altrincham during July.

The walking tours will explore the rich history of the town. Schofield is an experienced guide with a thorough knowledge of Greater Manchester. Promotional products from Altrincham may be used by local businesses which want to broaden their appeal. It will cost £10 to participate in a walking tour. Period architecture and local stories will be revealed to those who give it a go.

The concept of the tours has been endorsed by Altrincham Unlimited. This is the title of the town’s Business Improvement District (BID). Elizabeth Faulkner is the manager of this organisation and she told Altrincham Today:

“The tours will give local residents and visitors from further afield another great reason to visit and spend time in Altrincham and discover all it has to offer. We are fortunate that the town has such an interesting history and it has been fascinating to watch as curious, quirky and sometimes shocking stories have been revealed during Jonathan’s research.”

Schofield has won awards for his previous work. In addition, he is the author of several books. He has learned a lot from being an editor. Experienced in broadcasting, Schofield has engaged in conversation with the likes of Melvyn Bragg. Despite the breadth of his personal knowledge, Schofield understands that a guide cannot afford to appear condescending.
