Building in Altrincham gets green light

Trafford Council has granted permission to developers of a scheme with the aim to build on a site in central Altrincham.

The site used to be a bowling green, with Stamford Bowling Club formerly occupying the space. As the land was not used for 12 years, the area has become overgrown. There are not many other vacant plots remaining within Altrincham’s vibrant town centre. Having received consent from the local authority, Landmark Property Group (LPG) will construct a residential development.

The managing director at LPG, told Altrincham Today:

“It’s quite a unique site that’s steeped in history and one of the last remaining available plots in Altrincham town centre. We’ve seen so much activity in Altrincham over the last few years. The market has brought an eclectic mix of people back into the town, and there’s the right balance of residential and business now, which bodes well for the town moving forward.”

The vision involves the replacement of a disused bowling pavilion with a two-bedroom bungalow. This detached building shall be joined by four semi-detached properties if all goes to plan.

LPG uses the brand of Landmark Living. The Northern Design Awards featured a Landmark Living project recently. This development was gated and its design will not be replicated in the middle of Altrincham.

Construction is set to begin in a matter of months, with completion anticipated to be within a year of the start date.
