Consultation on plans for more housing in Romford

September 26, 2018 by

Local people are being asked to come forward with their opinions with regard to a development in Romford.

The plan involves constructing more homes inside the ring road and it is hoped that this could help with the regeneration of a zone next to the River Rom. Graphic design can assist various organisations to plan for the future. Council leader Damian White told the Romford Recorder:

“We are very keen to hear directly from residents and local businesses about your ambitions and aspirations for Romford and how the plans at Bridge Close can contribute to these.”

Councillor White wants a good turnout at a consultative event. This occasion will take place within the Brewery Shopping Centre over the final weekend of the month.

Havering Council has come together with Savills Investment Management and First Base to make the scheme into a possibility. Savills is the current owner of the land at Bridge Close, while First Base is a specialist in urban regeneration.

If the initiative gets the green light, there will be educational and health facilities provided to embed the sustainability of the community. In addition, the local economy should be boosted by the provision of fresh workspace. Meanwhile, the construction of a bridge for pedestrians might help to improve the infrastructure of the area.
