Southampton to host run for male health

Southampton is set to stage a fun run to promote men’s health this autumn.

This year is the first occasion on which a MoRun will take place in the city. The MoRun will take place mid-November and should boost the local profile of men’s health. Printing services from Southampton can be used to raise awareness of a diversity of events and causes. The Movember Foundation is behind the MoRun and the founder of the event, Dave Krangel, said:

“We encourage all of our participants to have fun during their run because that’s what it’s about; dressing up, enjoying yourself and crossing the finishing line with a smile on your face.”

Krangel wants runners to feel a genuine sense of togetherness. The wearing of moustaches and fancy dress could be handy in generating an authentic community spirit. Individuals of various ages and abilities can participate in the event as there are three separate distances to challenge the runners.

Children can take on a course of 1.5 kilometres. Experienced runners may be tempted by a 10 kilometre alternative. Meanwhile, there will be a fun run set at an intermediate distance for runners of moderate stamina.

The challenge can be taken up by solo runners. However, there is nothing to stop teams of athletes from having a go.
