Raiders set for early Romford homecoming

London Raiders are coming back to Romford earlier than planned.

The Romford Leisure Development Centre has been prepared for the return of the team. The ice rink should be ready for action in early February. Printing services in Romford may be used to promote various events. London Raiders have been obliged to host their home matches in Lee Valley for a few seasons because of the closure of the Rom Valley Way rink.

The management of the ice hockey team did not expect to be Romford-bound quite so soon. A press statement was made and reported by the Romford Recorder:

“The Raiders fan base has shifted a little west in the last five years and we do hope those local to Lee Valley will continue to support us in the new rink and witness the continued progress of the Raiders, supported at last by their own junior development system.”

The management of the team is confident that some of the old support will come flooding back when the relocation is completed. This belief is based on feedback from lapsed fans. After almost five seasons of the Raiders being absent from their true home, the local appetite for their offer is still there.

Raiders are a team which has a genuine community focus. It has given its support to the National Autistic Society.
