Richards, who has personal experience of international hockey coaching, said that successful students will be able to engage with football coaching at the level of grassroots sport. However, she added that those who complete the course will also have the skills necessary to work at higher levels in the game.

Furthermore, Richards made clear that personal development and professional development will be on the curriculum. The course will focus on psychology, physiology, training techniques and performance analysis. The context of sport will also be researched.
