New development plans revealed for Flintshire
November 13, 2012 by Lyndon
Plans have been revealed for a new mixed-use development in Flintshire, and along with it a first glimpse of how the new development could look.
The Northern Gateway is the proposed development in Deeside, which would be intended for a number of uses including residential, leisure, shopping and training. The site promises to create over 2,000 permanent jobs, which would be a real boost to the local economy. Local printing companies in Wrexham could be called on following the development, as new businesses request services like
business card printing and
POS printing.
Wrexham, Deeside and the surrounding areas would also benefit from the building of new housing, with 1,100 new homes planned as part of The Northern Gateway development.
Christine Jones, a local councillor, commented on The Northern Gateway plans, saying:
“It’s going to be an amazing thing for the community in Flintshire. It’s the biggest development Flintshire has seen and hopefully will bring jobs and much needed affordable housing to the area.
“In Sealand we’ve lost so many facilities in recent years so it’s good to see an injection of services back into the community. There are plans for a lot of green space and flood defences are being reinforced, which will hopefully bring down insurance prices for homes on the flood plain.”
The planning application for The Northern Gateway is now being reviewed by Flintshire Council and a decision on whether this will be approved or not will be made in the coming months.
