Wilko opening new Tunbridge Wells branch

Retail chain Wilko announced that it will open a Print company in Tunbridge Wells printing services Tunbridge Wells store soon, revealing that it will create 60 jobs.

By the end of August, the Wilko outlet in Tunbridge Wells will be up and running with 60 employees manning the store. The store will be located in Royal Victoria Place, which once accommodated a branch of HMV.

Chris Evans, who will head the Wilko store, told the Kent and Sussex Courier:

“Tunbridge Wells has a strong retail offering but we’ve spotted a gap in the market for Wilko’s range of quality products that offer great value to shoppers. The town has a diverse range of shoppers, who will be well catered for with our product range and store layout.”

The branch manager explained the advantages associated with the location. In his view, the transport infrastructure, which includes a park-and-ride initiative, will boost business in the future.

The Wilko within Tunbridge Wells is not the only branch in the region. There are existing Wilko stores in Crawley and Maidstone. However, the organisation is expanding across the UK.

Tunbridge Wells’ retail offering is changing on a broader level. A BHS outlet has been obliged to close and a site which was once occupied by Morrisons is set to be filled by The Range.
